Are you or someone you know a man? If so then this is the month to start being proactive about your health.
In June we regularly think of our Father's and in 1994, Men's Health Month was established by the congressional health education to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.
In order to recognize the importance of Men’s Health Month, PTX would like to encourage you to seek out medical care as well as care from Physical Therapy if you are Xperiencing new or old symptoms including: back pain, neck pain, pelvic pain, arthritis, osteopenia/osteporosis, difficulty with walking or balance, feelings of dizziness or if you need education on a proper work from home ergonomic set up to help prevent pain.
The State of Maryland allows for what is called direct access for physical therapy. Most private insurance companies (not Medicare), allow you to access Physical Therapy without visiting your doctor first, allowing you to save time and money. Give us a call and see if we can help you find out if your insurance will cover direct access physical therapy for you.
Physical Therapists are skilled providers to evaluate and treat areas from your head down to your toes. We are knowledgeable in treating a patient if it is appropriate and referring to another speacilist if it is beyond our expertiese.
So come see us if you have:
- A new injury from sports, lifting or the new DIY home project you've been working on.
- Chronic pain to back, pelvis or joint(s) from an old injury
- Neck or back pain from the new ergonomic set up from your work from home office.
- Pain from carrying the new born baby or helping to manage the new family dynamic.
- Stiffness in your joint(s) that may be from arthritis.
- Decreased strength in areas of your body.
- Difficulty walking the way you want to.
- If you feel off balance or dizzy.
